In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 communication apps on Android in Serbia displayed diverse trends in downloads and revenue. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed.

Telegram experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 11.8K in mid-March. The app saw a significant rise from 3.1K at the beginning of January to a high of 11.8K by the week of March 14. Throughout the quarter, weekly downloads remained above 9K from mid-February onwards.

Snapchat maintained a relatively steady download rate throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads ranged between 5.7K to 8.3K, with a minor dip to 5.7K at the end of February. The highest number of downloads was observed in the last week of December, with 8.3K.

WhatsApp Messenger showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads over the quarter. Downloads started at 6.6K in late December and peaked at 7.9K in the final week of March. Mid-March also saw a significant uptick, with weekly downloads reaching 7.6K.

Rakuten Viber Messenger saw a varied performance in weekly revenue and downloads. Revenue peaked at $325 in the last week of December and then gradually declined to around $98 by the end of March. On the download front, the app saw a peak of 6.6K in mid-March, up from 6.4K at the beginning of the quarter.

Finally, Yettel SRB demonstrated a notable fluctuation in downloads. Starting the quarter with 3.6K downloads, the app saw a significant surge to 9.2K in the last week of February before stabilizing around the 6K mark towards the end of March.
